Graziano Pelle sealed Italy's place in the Euro 2016 quarter-finals with a stoppage-time strike to sink reigning champions Spain 2-0 on Monday.
The victory meant Italy avoided a third consecutive elimination at the European Championship to Spain and secured a quarter-final tie against Germany on Saturday.
Spain's era of dominance at the European Championship came to an end as Italy outclassed the defending champions to set up a Euro 2016 quarter-final.
Goals from Giorgio Chiellini and Graziano Pelle saw Italy to a 2-0 victory in the last-16 clash at the Stade de France.
Chiellini headed Italy in front from a corner just before the break, with Pelle sealing the win in stoppage time.
Italy will now face Germany in the quarter-finals on Saturday.
